It is a pleasure to let you know that dogs can sometimes behave like cats when they have been together for so long. Dogs are very smart social animals and they can imitate the behaviors of those around them.
They are well known for their adaptability and can pick up on various behaviors from their surroundings, including how other pets behave.
That said, if a dog spends a significant amount of time with cats, they may mimic certain feline behaviors, such as grooming, trying to climb or perch in elevated places, or even exhibiting odd behaviors not usual for dogs.
But how true is this claim? You may ask, well enough talk, catch a glimpse of how good dogs can be at imitating cats.
Meet Maple a dog who has grown to be so fond of her cat companion to the extent at which she behaves almost like a cat.
She is a spirited canine, that showcases a copy of feline-inspired behaviors that had us all charmed. The video is captioned “When your puppy was raised by a cat” and we can see what it is like.
As the video progresses, we see instances where the dog acts like her cat housemate, Waffles. The first adorable display was where Maples searched for the high part of the couch to relax.
Adding to the cat-like charm, Maples also loves fighting with her paws just as cats do. It’s really funny how she always challenges Waffles in a paw fight like she enjoys it.
One other thing that Maples does that shows that he was raised by Waffles the cat is that he likes to sit by the windowsill and observe her surroundings. This behavior is one of the most common cat behavior.
As if all of that is not enough, maples love to play with the cat’s toys rather than her dog’s toys and squeeze into tight corners such as the dining room chairs.
The extent to which a dog imitates cat behaviors can vary based on individual personality, and the specific dynamics of the dog-cat relationship.
Notwithstanding, the video is indeed a heartwarming portrayal of a unique cat-and-dog companionship that captured our hearts.
