Toxic Ingredients In Veggie Burgers

Some veggie burgers contain dome toxic ingredients that may give you cat issues. Although these ingredients are harmless and beneficial to humans, we can’t say the same for cats. For this reason, professionals advise that cats be fed this dish in moderation.

The following are the ingredients to watch out for;

1. Sodium

Excessive salt in veggie burgers is bad for cats, as salt can easily dehydrate them and get them extremely thirsty. There are other severe consequences of excess salt consumption in cats, it can lead to cardiovascular and kidney diseases. Always make sure that the salt content in every meal for your cat is at the barest minimum.

2. Garlic

Cats have sensitive digestive systems, and garlic consumption in cats can result in serious stomach upset. Garlic may consist of good nutrients, but it’s still best to avoid it generally for cats as it poses more threats than good.

3. Onions

Onions are in the same group as garlic, onions are pretty much hazardous for cars as well. The toxic component in onions can attack their red blood cells which could lead to anemia. However, a little onion every once in a while won’t cause any harm, but when it is consumed in excess and regularly, your cat’s body will not be able to handle the severity.

Conclusion

Your cat’s well-being matters a lot; this is why you have to be sure about foods that are good for them and bad ones.

Veggie burgers, however, are good meals with some health benefits but could also contain harmful ingredients such as sodium, garlic, and onion, which could expose your pet to some risks. This is why veggie burgers should be given to cats in moderation.
